It’s really unbelievable the games are happening.
- daily new infections are rising again
- state of emergency just declared again, basically early hours for restaurants, no bars/clubs, etc
- only 25% vaccinated
- all spectators banned from events
- many athletes refusing to attend
- the ones that are here have had Covid Delta variant outbreaks already
all in all, Olympics haven’t even kicked off yet and it’s already a total sh!tshow.

Husband of friend of mine is traveling to Olympics right now. (He’s a rower.) And when we asked him about the whole process, he said “We have no clue. We’ll see what’s up when we’re there.” … That’s like … unbelievable.

It’s truly amazing they are not canceled. Something like 80% of the public wants them to be canceled. The IOC contractually won’t let the government do it.

The amount of money spent on Olympics is such, that I guess cancellation isn’t even a possibility now. We’ll see how it will go.
