Different versions of Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver D.I. V.1

Hi!
I discovered there are two versions of the Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver D.I. Version 1. There’s hardly any information on the earlier version on the net. Word is the earlier version has “the best tone” and does not sound like the later version or the V.2 nor the programmable version. The never V.1 is available on their site.
Does anybody have info or experience on the matter?
Cheers!

I’m running one at the moment and love it. Mostly at one setting but great

The V2 is a different beast imo. It handles mids way differently.

If you are interested in the V1 I would just go for the Behringer BDI21 V-Tone Bass Driver DI. It sounds exactly the same and is probably cheaper then a used V1. The Sansamp casing is much more sturdy tho.

Yeah don’t forget the $35 third version of the v1

Great deal, sounds awesome

Which one of the two different V1? I’m running the programmable version and I really like it. I’m just curious about the supposed great difference between those V1’s.

I have the programmable version. I’m just curious if the two different V1’s are really different.

The difference in that sound clip for the Sans and Behringer are quite different, at least for my ear.

I ended up going with a V2 and I’m pretty happy so far, and I was curious on how they would sound in comparison. V1 vs V2 comparison

They sound nearly identical to a vanishingly small and meaningless difference to me

Yeah, especially if the goal is to sound exactly the same

The V2 just has more control. Both are great!

To be fair, the Sansamp is still one of the better preamps on the market.

It’s pretty good for sure. I do like their VT Bass DI more though.
