Hello everyone,
What is your take on this Italian brand, which I hear was once renowned and then fell into a sort of semi-oblivion? I read they make their basses in China now, but many reviewers seem to swear on their quality. I am considering getting a spare PJ for modding.
It looks like the company was sold to someone else, and they just use the name, and not even sub brand. I have no idea but I’d assume it’s just another Chinese build. If you want a PJ why not look into Harley Benton or Squier. At least you know the pedigree.
I actually bought a HB but they wrote me back saying I need to wait 11-14 weeks because of some supply issue (I guess it has to do with the maritime route problem around Somalia). So perhaps a Squier would do.
Do you think that a Squier Affinity PJ with a himass bridge and lightweight tuners would do? I also have a EMG pickup set ready to slap into it
New? Or used
I would like to buy it new from Thomann and then mod it.
It’s good personally the affinity series are a bit too light for me. A fender bsss should have some heff to feel good. That’s just me.
I’d also consider just either jazz or precision and not PJ. It’s more satisfying. As your stable grows you’ll appreciate the specific of what each of your bass can do.
