I have been getting a small charge off the strings of my bass. I just bought a new Rumble 100.
Also, my niece was shocked on my new ProFX mixer when touching mic and bass.
Is this a house wiring problem?

Whoa! Careful there.
Paging @DaveT
Safe to say you’ve had a revolting experience?
…I’ll see myself out.
I called Sweetwater and I’ll probably never hear back from them.
That is not the general experience with sweetwater.
Shocks are usually due to poor grounding.
But that aside never touch the mic and the strings at the same time or you will be rewarded with a shocking experience.
That would be a good place to start. It sounds like you have a voltage on your ground.
Something like this should be available in most every country.
It was low voltage, less than nine volts. It was probably static? My neighbor tried it and had problems. He warned me about mike and strings.
This is probably a floating ground in your amp. Are you in a country with a three prong electrical outlet? Are you running it three-in-to-two?
I would recommend a tester like Dave mentioned to test your actual outlets.
I hate this about Japan. We use two prong outlets here, which can be technically “safe” but suck for audio and other noise-sensitive electronics due to everything not necessarily being on the same ground. I even ran my own ground wires to make sure my office outlers were actually grounded.
I bought a cheap tester and sure enough there are differing problems with different outlets. I found a safe one and I’m plugged in there now.
Thanks for the assistance!
Called three times in the lastweek, no response.
