Fender Aerodyne officially disco'ed in USA

Sad times.

The good old shiney black Aerodyne is now officially discontinued by the great minds at Fender.
No idea if the new Specials (all the kinda uglyish colors) will continue on, but that classic black is gone baby gone.
Making me rethink not having one, but really have no use for it at all

Little sad. I think it’s because the price point honestly.

Interesting thing is the discussion on talkbass is how they are fairly rarely seen out live but lately I’ve seen bassists all over with them.

It’s not a bad thing especially for you. Supplies and demands you know? I can sit in mine for a few years and I won’t lose the value of it.

I’m not surprised that it’s being discontinued, what with it’s price undercutting the new Aerodyne Specials by $455.

I feel like I got nearly MIA quality for a MIM price.

Sadly yes, it’s gone, but if you have a local Guitar Center or something of the sorts they can order it in from the Fender Stock

I saw this one online today, brand new MIJ, “California Blue” on body & headstock, jazz pickups:
