I’ve finally got the string retainer @John_E pointed me in the direction of but I’m at a bit of a loss as to how to fit it!
I’ve googled the issue, watched a couple of videos al of which have screw ferrules that fit over the tuning peg shaft.
Unfortunately the Jazz looks to have the older style ones which press fit.
So do I simply fit the retainer under the lip of the ferrule or am I missing something plainly obvious here?

I assumed that was the deal but not sure. Call them?
