the only basses/guitars i have with dings came with the dings and they were worth the discount
It’s pretty hard to scratch poly finishes now, you really have to be trying
Yeah I never do anything self-destuctive halfassed
I was taking the picture below when the bass on the right slipped and hit the other causing a chip in the finish.
Bad case of jealousy
My Aerodyne has a couple of light scratches where the pickups sat while I shielded the pickup cavities.
Luckily, it collects so many fingerprints, I never even notice them.
I found this on my Gretsch yesterday. The corner of my new, very cheap desk is also messed up, so I can imagine what happened. I’m not upset about it though. I got my money’s worth out of this bass, and I’m going to keep it and love it forever lol.
I used to race motocross. First thing you do with a new helmet is drop it and get a scuff. If you don’t you are guaranteed to crash during the race.
I managed to ding 2 basses in same moment. Dropped my Darkglass Pedal right over the bass rack…
The worst ding I had was on my old Hohner, getting out the back seat of the car, the wind caught the bass just as I slammed the door and now she has a nice ding on the headstock. Nearly cried, thought I’d done some real damage but she’s a tough old bird😁
I didn’t ding the bass, it was fine. My 12 year old grandson was playing along with me and smacked me pretty good in the face with the headstock of the Ibanez es 300.
But the the bass is a trooper, it held up good-and He’s a consummate professional, he didn’t drop a note. Guess it’s all good in the 'hood.
My son dropped my bass and hit the headstock, Hmmm!
it’s all good though, it’s meant to be played a lot.
When are the services for the boy?
I’m thinking about putting out my Green Fender P bass near him so he can start the relic process, in a few months it would be worth double, ha ha.
Looks like a Bongo headstock
You need to act as a spotter for any ultra-short people holding your ultra-$$$ basses.
Knock on wood, haven’t noticably dinged any of the basses, bought my five string used and that has some battle scars, but I didn’t do those. But I have a guitar horror story from some years ago.
Had an Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy. It had quick release strap locks, and one day when playing, I took my hand off the neck to do something, and the release on the horn let go for some reason, neck dropped right on to a coffee table and took a chunk out of the neck, causing headstock to be loose. Had to send away for repairs as my local guy couldn’t do anything with it. Several weeks later got it back and could barely tell it had happened. First time one of my instruments had an oopsie.
Not THE guitar, but the same type. Damn shame.
Hah! Two nights ago while putting it in a gig bag, I raised it a little high and stuck it in the ceiling fan. Sounded like I broke the neck off but it only made a little mark.
