First Gig - all thanks to Beginner to Baddass

@antonio my wife filmed some of the set on her phone. I then did a quick edit in IMovie. Nothing special just a few clips spliced together.
The audio is from the phone which is surprisingly good for what it is.

Great versatility, thanks for clarifying, so without cab you get 400 or 100 using the low attenuator switch.
I currently only have the rumble 40 but will be playing with some others hopefully over next few months. Was thinking of the 200 but this looks bit more future proof, cheers :+1:

If you keep an eye out of a used Rumble 500 that’ll also get you in the same ballpark. I think you get 350W from the combo and 500W when you add an extension cab.

That’s the newer V3 Rumble 500.

Honestly 2x10 is plenty loud enough for most places.

Yes, I do like the 2 x 10. Have been keeping eye open for 2nd hand but live over in Ireland & not a lot comes up. 200 might do it but don’t really want the 1 x 15 speaker

Thanks for all the positive comments. I realize that for many, playing live in a band or with others at a jam night isn’t your objective.

My goal when I started was to maybe, just maybe be able to play around a campfire with friends.

So I’m way past where I thought I’d get. Thanks to a great start from the course and then that good old Victorian ethic of putting the work in that was instilled into me as a child.

Next gig is a charity ball on 5th Oct.

@NeuroticBalance Long story, but I’ll try to briefly fess up.

I was rolling along working the “50 Songs Challenge” but got stumped and then got down on myself bc I couldn’t overcome it.

One thing led to another, the weeks turned into months, and before long, I started purging gear.

I’m getting back into playing because my church worship pastor said they “always need bassists.” He’s sent me several chord charts so I’m trying to figure
out the songs and things feel very positive.

I even reached out to Josh F. who gave me some advice on how to quickly ramp back up.

Bottom line now, if I’m gonna do it, I’ve gotta make it a priority.

Thanks for the nudge.

I was blown away by some of your covers as I was picking up the bass! Glad you finally got out to have some real fun!

Don’t be afraid of open mics and what not, I have embarrassed myself multiple times (to myself) but the audience always says “You were great!”

Playing out is the only way to get real confidence in being in the rhythm section in my little opinion

Hey I know it’s 30days almost since thos comment but I don’t think we all get stuck in the suck. I have days where I’m convinced my name is Flea (ok that’s weird) and days where no matter how well I don’t I’m not happy.

It’s super cool you are thinking about playing for your church. Is like to play for mine but I think I want practice with a bar band first. (Also really weird).

Anyway you got this. You don’t have to beat anyone but yourself. Bad days can help us to figure out what we need to work on. Don’t turn it into a job, remember to have fun!
