What do you think, do I count those covers on the yearly statistics, as if they were posted on the covers thread ?

That was incredibly touching, thanks for putting it together. Awesome collab and nice seeing a few faces I’ve read numerous times but haven’t seen perform before now.

Here is my contribution.
In situations like this, I can never find the right words to express myself. This truly is a labor of love and I feel humbled to be asked to participate.
Stay strong @PamPurrs Pam!

Here’s my version:

It was my absolute privilege and pleasure to participate in this group project, and it makes me proud to be a member of the haven of awesomeness that is the BassBuzz Forum

Oh and by the way: please don’t mind the serious face… My daughter was very diplomatic when she said I look very concentrated

Oh. My. Deity of choice!

I hadn’t watched all of these right through so missed that there was a proper cut-together version with so many of you, incl. Josh. I wish I’d known beforehand but I’m so moved that as a community we are showing our feelings & support.

Right, what’s the next song? Any requests, @PamPurrs?

As a way of showing our appreciation, Sara and I are talking about doing a video of “I’ll Stand by you”. I can grab the karaoke version of the song as a backing track, and play Chrissy’s singing part over it on the cello. Sara will stand next to me and sign the lyrics. In post production I will overlay the lyrics onto the video. All I have to do is:

  1. Get good enough on the cello to pull it off
  2. Learn the melody

It’ll take some time, but I think it’ll be worth the effort. I’m still in the early learning stages on the cello, but If I can master it as fast as I did the bass, it’ll be a short order. This gives me some extra incentive to fight the cancer even harder and stay alive long enough to get this done.

Awesome, can’t wait to see the result!

Fun fact: The cello is the only instrument which perfectly mimics the range of the human voice.
Expect me to be doing a lot of covers of vocals (once I master this lovely beast).

what’s cool is that you will be able to get easily a lot of karaoke tracks with the lyrics already removed :v::grin:

Exactly! :heart_eyes_cat:

An additional bonus: there is an abundance of scores of popular songs available online with the lyrics, which saves me from hours of transcribing and composing. They’re in treble clef, but I am able to read that nearly as well as I read bass clef, so no problem.
I have already acquired the score for I’ll Stand by You" and have begun practicing it.
