Free Money

@joergkutter I treated this as a hypothetical question… @BigBottom is it not?

Oh, it’s completely hypothetical. No one is ready to dole out any money for someone else’s bass. :rofl:

I used to own a Fender Jazz of this vintage. Also, a 4001 Rickenbacker. They were OK. But I sold them both.

I would ask for the most popular vintage Fender with the tonewood du jour and whatever dubious relicing/paint combo was the most popular among the True Faithful, and then immediately flip it for immense profit to a cultist and blow the money on my many other questionable yet alluring pursuits. I am happy with my basses.

Completely hypothetical . I’m more than happy with my Mustang shorty.

Nice one, is that a 3 bolt neck? Gorgeous neck.

@joergkutter ’s correct response notwithstanding, I’d put together a Sandberg in that range.

A jazz bass with double reverse precision pickups instead of jazz pickups. That would be pretty dang cool.

Rickenbacker 4003SW, hands down!

I have the Ricky 4001 as well @MikeC ,
I rarely play either of these 2 basses, but I wouldn’t sell either.
I did sell a black 4001 to @Mac , he is into Lemmy:joy::rofl::joy::rofl:
Cheers Brian

I get that.

I traded in my mint Rick 4001 on a new Fender Rhodes that I used a whole lot more.

I would probably get a G&L Wunkay…I played a Tribute and it was awesome. The true Wunkay would probably be perfect for me and my level of ability. Or, I would build up the nicest Warmoth P/J I could and save money.

I’d love to get a Lakeland Geezer Butler bass but it’s a bit too pricey for me right now. One can always wish.

I’d check with Carl Thompson to see if I could put a deposit down on a 6 string. But not sure if he’s taking deposits anymore.
