From One Acoustic to Another (...maybe)

Thanks @MikeC for the information and video link, I’ll be sure to check that out.

Appreciate your input, cheers.

@howard I remember when I had a regular acoustic guitar years ago I would somehow chuck my pick in through the opening nearly every time I played that thing, though admittedly I was awful at keeping hold of a pick in general

F-Holes and sound holes are notoriously voracious pick-predators

Exactly!!
Huhuh… f hole🤣

I used to drop my pick through my acoustic guitar’s soundhole back when I was first learning to play. It’s a typical newbie mistake that goes away with practice. Holding on to a pick is an easily learned technique.

But dropping a pick into an archtop? Nope. Having owned and played an archtop for decades, and knowing scores of ardent archtop players and luthiers with even more experience, losing a pick through an F-hole is an extremely rare occurrence, if ever at all. Even when alcohol and other party favors are consumed. :beers:

I forgot I owned one of these back in the day, too. I love archtops and semi-hollow bodies.

That’s rather pretty

It’s generally based on the classic Gibson ES-335 design.
