Frustrating Gear Issue

I went downstairs on my day off to play some tunes and get some practice.
Plug in to my Rumble 100 and was greeted by the sounds of silence.
Nothing, not even the pop when it starts up.
I jiggled the lead, I changed the lead, I tried with and without the Zoom pedal, I tried a guitar, nothing.
I grabbed a screwdriver and opened it up an looked at the amp, nothing odd, no smell of burning, the smoke had not been released.
Finally I phoned the guitar shop, they confirmed it was still under warranty and , sure bring it down.
Finally get down there when I pick up the boy from school.
Dude plugs it in and…silence.
He jiggles the pots and turns the bass dial to 11.
Booooooooooooooooooom.
Glorious bass notes are emitted.
We look at each other, “well that is odd” we say together.
no dramas, if it happens again bring it in and we will send it to Fender.
Get home and plug it in and it plays happily away like nothing happened and I didn’t take it for a drive.
Bastard!

That is strange. Hopefully, the problem has not happened again!

Welcome to living in the technological future (or poor quality recent past). For a more interesting conclusion, chock it up to ghosts haunting you from the great beyond, or those aliens everyone keeps talking about.

Did you have your coffee before you bring it to the shop?

I’m glad it worked out for you.

It is an Aussie thing.
It is said that one of the most Australian things is to yell at a fly to Fuck Off! and expect it to listen

I haven’t powered up my Randall in probably ten years. It scares me to think of what might be living inside it. At the very least I will pull the cover and spray the pots with some happy juice. Sorry to read about these kinds of issues on newer gear.

If you do, let it air out a bit before putting the cover back on
