Gaming! What are you playing?

Traditionally, this period ended in September 1993, better known as Eternal September.

I was there, grandfathered in on an old .edu account and on one of the few ISP’s at the time too. It was bad.

Now that Sylvanas is stuck doing day labor in the Maw, my Forsaken warlock discovered a dark ritual to free herself from the curse of undeath by causing some doofus in another universe to blow $17 to change her into a Dracthyr.

Honestly I just did it to keep the Legion title and maxed Order Hall. Leveling wasn’t an issue.

Heresy! Forsaken are the master race. One of my alts is an undead death knight… because dying once just wasn’t enough.

If it means you keep playing a well travelled character, it is worth it. Looking at my list I’ve changed
1st character made in 2004 Night Elf to Forsaken (Rogue) Actually fun to play again at the moment.
Draenai to troll (shaman) unfun, and depressing to play. I think I’m too used to melee DPS now, casting times seem painfully slow. By the time I’ve fired off two spells on my shaman, my monk or rogue has killed the mob and moved on!
The shaman replaced my rogue as main in TBC.
I think I’m happy with my current warband now; Demon Hunter(H), rogue (H), monk(A), Druid (H), although the last one is only good when my son plays his druid and tanks, while I spank.
I now have The War Within, so does my son, but we are finishing the Dragonflight campaign before moving on.

Nice to see some Rift love! It was a great game, it deserved to do better than it did.

My current rotation is Balatro, Darktide, Metaphor Refantazio, Path of Exile 2 and FF7 Rebirth (plus a bit of FFXIV but that’s always there in the background no matter what else I’m playing)

Still some of the best zones and story in the game IMO. Bummer about Sylvanas and Nathanos though.

Man I can’t stand Tyrande and Malfurion

I just perma-parked my Evoker because of this - it was hilarious how much more solo-capable my DK and DH were. My warlock is much better too.

Absolutely, the world events were really well done. It should have been huge.
Did anyone else play the Defiance MMO? Spin off from the tv show. I think it may have been the first MMO I played that had actual guns in it. Less fantasy, more sci-fi.

Yeah, the whole forsaken story in the north/north-east Eastern Kingdoms is rad. I’m not sure if I like that or the original DK starter zone/quests better. I must have 25 DKs sitting in my deleted characters area for all the times I’ve run through the original DK starter zone/quests.

For all my love of the undead, I really dislike both of those characters. Sylvanas becoming a banshee was a great story, as was her breaking free of Arthas’ control. She was an OK leader of the undead. But the whole “warchief->Jailer’s partner-in-crime->redemption” arc was not interesting to me. And Nathanos with his superiority conflict… I was so happy when I got to kill him as part of the Shadowlands pre-patch.

Now, the Arthas/Lich King/Bolvar arc, that’s pretty awesome. And I dig “no longer the Lich King, just a crispy DK-like unique character” Bolvar. I hope they use him more and leave Sylvanas cleaning up her mess in the Maw forever.

They are squishy to start, but… gear him up, get his hero talents. It all works out in the end and their DPS is rad. The only reason I’m not maining my evoker now is because I know the DH rotation with my eyes closed, and while my evoker sims higher than my DH (and my DH has a higher item level) I don’t want to learn a new class as well as I know DH.

I love the idea of the augmentation spec. I enjoy playing non healing support classes (like bards) any chance I get. Tbh, the same sort of mentality is what draws me to bass. I just don’t do group stuff anymore.

Yeah, my guild has pretty much gone belly-up. There are brief explosions of activity when a new expansion drops, but other than that it’s pretty dead.

This is why I love delves and follower dungeons.

My old guild is gone

We should start a BassBuzz guild… or they have a new “Community” thing, one of those.

Low End Horde!

It’d need to be cross faction / server to work. I don’t have a guild but I’ve been pretty loyal to my server for something like 13 or 14 years now.

Alliance on Moonguard has a certain reputation (Blizz gave us our own instance of Goldshire inn :joy: ) and I love it.

Yeah TBH I am not transferring off Emerald Dream at this point. Too many characters.

Hmm, it looks like Warbands and Guilds are both cross-faction and cross-server now. Warbands are region-limited but if we’re all NA then that’s not an issue.

I’ll log and and take a look in a bit. I’ve got plenty of gold to start one up. I’ve got my Les Paul on the desk atm and am watching the US / Canada hockey game.

Still need 4 peeps to make one.

We could alternatively just make a community, which to me look like guilds but without any of the benefits guilds have.

Well if we’re going to guild up or even just meet up in game we need to collect these for friend invites
