So we’ve been chatting about this stuff in a couple of threads, so we may as well have a home for it all.
In all honesty, my reply for the last month is ‘Not very much!’ My free time is generally bass related nowadays.
My son and I are well into PC gaming. I’ve built my own PC the last few times, and my son is so much more into the hardware than I am now.
I’ve had all the consoles with the exception of a PS5, but just a PC gamer now. I had a huge World Of Warcraft addiction, I’d hate to think how many hours I put into that! Haven’t bothered with it in maybe 3 years though.
I used to enjoy driving /racing games, but I just don’t have the reaction speed now.
RPG, open world games I love. Also transport management games like Transport Fever. Also anything with conveyer belts, ie Satisfactory.
If I can just sit back and watch things tick over without my input, I’m happy. I’m so lazy
I think my lad and I will be jumping on Enshrouded later. Haven’t played it in a while and there have been some cool updates.
Most of my games are on Steam, it makes thing a lot easier to manage.
I am hanging up the controllers and selling my PS5 … ( prolly for a Bass FX floorboard ) … I wasted WAY too much time, and have nothing to show for it.
Also a gamer here, but much less so with a bass to occupy my free time. I do play DayZ and HellLetLoose on Xbox occasionally, and definitely if I can get my grown up kids to hop online, but they’re busier than me these days. Also a big fan of the Dark Souls games and Elden Ring. Witcher 3 was also amazing.
War Thunder
recently got into retro gaming, and bought a Miyoo Mini+ and am trying to work my way through Super Mario 3.
(for those who may not be aware: “retro gaming” usually means very cheap handheld gaming with literally thousands of games being pre-loaded on an SD card that comes with the machine. its great for the olds like me. i have this one:)
Finished Baldur’s Gate 3 a couple of weeks ago, prior to that I played Elder Scrolls Online and WoW off and on for two decades. Taking a break for a bit now I think.
Warframe. I will always be playing Warframe. I may stray a bit when Steam has something on sale but it always goes back to Warframe. With their new 1999 event coming in the next couple of weeks, I’m very excited.
That being said, Hogwarts Legacy was finally at a decent price on Steam so I’ve spent the last week or so playing through that.
Beyond that, I love the “dad game” genre, apparently. Powerwash Simulator, Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 and Crime Scene Cleaner all scratch a particular itch in my brain and provide mindless relaxation.
But, yeah, play some Warframe if you haven’t tried it. It’s 100% free and if you put in the time you will be rewarded. Even if you tried it a few years ago, try it again. With their release schedule, it’s a whole different game a couple times a year. Robot space ninjas? It’s the core. Ship combat? Yep. Open world souls-like? They’ve got that too. RPG-like elements and engaging story line? Surprisingly better than many AAA titles.
The Lotus story arc was mind blowing. I’m mastery LR4 in Warframe … only missing 6 guns and I have everything
Warframe is hella bonkers! The trading economy is wikkid cool too
I’m a big fan of survival games. I’ve played most of what Steam has to offer. Once Human, 7 days to die, Raft, Valheim, Enshrouded, I also am a tycoon style game addict.
My favourite game of all time is Cyberpunk. Last week I bought the dlc, Phantom Liberty. I didn’t expected much, but I wanted a reason revisit Night City. The bad think about it is that it’s to good. I play it on the steamdeck unplugged to avoid long gaming sessions
After playing the free demo, I’m awaiting the full release of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders. It’s low stakes and I’ve really enjoyed their last game, Lonely Mountains Downhill (a similar game for biking). It should be this month, but they did change it from “Coming 2024” to “Coming soon”
Thanks @mgoldst I’ve got a couple of long flights and traveling coming up.
This thing looks great. I’ve just ordered one.
A fellow Tenno! Sweet! Send me a friend invite: MisterCrispyFL
I haven’t played in a long while … I may take a year or so break … let the gear pile up … then I will have something to play for. When you have everything… all I was doing was selling 14 Voidrigs a week for 1100p every week LOL just makin bank… At really high MR… it gets boring … lol
Oh so you’re the one reading/leaking all the classified documents!
I play on PS5. Played the crap out of Baldur’s Gate 3,c went through the whole game twice. I may play it again in multiplayer with some friends. Hopefully that happens, but we’ll see.
My go to is No Man’s Sky, which I jump into again whenever there’s a new update, which is at least a few times a year.
Been playing AstroBot this week, which is surprisingly fun. I still have the new God of War to play, and I still want to finish Horizon Forbidden West, which I’m halfway through. After that, maybe I’ll play some more Elden Ring. I haven’t finished that game yet either.
Right now, I play so much video games that I don’t really get around playing bass.
Currently, I play Lords of the Fallen, and also Battlefield 2042 with a few friends.
I am just about to part out my gaming PC to focus on other things.
This is kind of a huge deal for me as I am by any definition a hardcore gamer and also spent half my career in the games industry.
For me, thousands of hours in dozens of games. I have around 200 games in my Steam library alone. Biggest would probably be Destiny 2 (started playing mid-Warmind, so grew up in the Forsaken era - the very best of the game), the entire Borderlands series, many MMOs going back to Everquest 1 (with the largest being either SWTOR, ESO, Guild Wars 2, or maybe WoW - go Horde ), all the Bioware games, all the good WH40k games, a good slice of the From Software titles, on and on. If it was good there’s a solid chance I have at least 50 hours in it.
But it’s time to focus on other things
Rough order (not exact as I have significant non-Steam time in some - D2 probably another ~400hrs, BL2 probably double that):
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy on PS5.
