Gaming! What are you playing?

This is one reason I love World of Warships (only, Tanks is not the same). It’s 100% real-time PvP but more strategy than action - it’s all about positioning and situational awareness, not about headshotting noobs. And the pacing is just more chill.

It’s also slightly P2W but not unbalanced by it, which makes for a compelling monetization model. Brilliant really.

Apex legends is still fun so it’s time for me to relearn movement for that game and figure out what all these new legends and guns even do.

The monetization is absolutely predatory so I won’t be opening my wallet, but fun game for sure! Lootbox gambling, Battle passes, and $100+ skin whaling are all present. Also the game is 5th on steam and has a big console presence so…

One aspect here is that the gamerunner is the dude from Valorant. That explains a lot of the PvP sweatiness.

Great guide to Outpost and great illustration of how insane this gets

3-stacks play different there ofc.

I don’t usually play video games, cuz’ I quit gaming 3 years ago to fully pursue music, for fun…But now and then, when I do, play video games, I usually play Splatoon. Cool vibes and Super Bangin’ soundtrack! The bass in the OST has to be some of the best around! The drums too!

And sometimes, I fool around with Subnautica.

A Very Marathon Story

Not playing it right now, because it doesn’t exist yet in storefronts, but I want to play it: Star Wars Zero Company. I really like turn based tactics and squad based tactics games ever since playing the 1995 UFO: Enemy Unknown X-COM. I also like Star Wars. So I really hope this one works out :). Have played recently: the Diablo II expansion with the new Warlock class, on Steam Deck which is the only way I play now.

Yeah Zero Company looks amazing

Finished Resident Evil Requiem last night. Really enjoyed it, probably my favourite RE since 4. I’m probably going to pick up Desth Stranding 2 again next and see if I can finish that off too before Saros comes out at the end of the month.

I have reached above average rank in deadlock. I’ve always identified as bad at fps games so this comes with an identity crisis.

I love this take so much:

“The knife in Marathon is deadly. Especially after you unlock melee upgrades and if you equip the right mods. Some players have been complaining about being killed in just two hits with it. Those people are cowards.”

(re: the incoming knife nerfs)

The knife is the best weapon in the game for bubble fights which does seem a little excessive.

That’s the gist of the nerf - basically “who needs the $2400 WSTR when everyone has a knife for free?”

It’s also kind of hilarious that if you replaced the Destroyer’s shoulder missiles with a free bubble every 5 minutes they would be basically identical to a Destiny 2 Titan

Try playing with a friend! It really helps you stay organized, (most of the time :D) and you can progress faster! It’s also a lot more fun to be constantly chatting with someone, comparing ideas, organizing tasks, etc.

Hades 2 is out today on PS5 and Xbox. I already played it a ton on Switch 2 and I highly recommend it.

It’s on my mac still waiting for me to finish Hades 1

Which is also great.

Playin earthbound

Timberborn recently had their 1.0 release so I’ve been getting back into that.

I love colony builders. Something about crafting a little town while all the little guys in it do the little jobs you give them, to get more resources to expand the town to get more little guys to do more work get more resources to expand the town … and in Timberborn they are literally busy little beavers.

I’ve also been thinking of checking out Whiskerwood. The one’s about managing a colony of mice doing labor for oppressive cat overlords, keeping your mice fed and healthy while the cats demand a bigger and bigger cut. But I’ve been reluctant to buy games in Early Access for a while, after a couple that changed entirely too much before release.

okay this is pretty intense for Perimeter
