Yeah, Sweetwater asked me if I was considering a setup, I said heck no. I’m pretty sure it would come ready to jam.

Love those color contrasts! That’s a gorgeous bass

Thanks. I’m looking forward to finding out what’s the pickup selector is about. Parallel/ series filter/series.

It’s all about the signal chain. Parallel it runs through both coils simultaneously, series is what it says, the signal runs through first one coil than the next. Series is beefiier, more agressive, more mids and lower. Parallel is more treblely and clearer.

Yeah, I don’t recall this setup. My sterlings have parallel/ phantom/ series. The filter series is going to be a new one, or same with fancy term, lol

So, GAS has struck again in the form of Peaveyphilia.

I bought, sight unseen, a Peavey Patriot bass off of the interwebs. Not only that, its a fixer-upper (likely needs a new neck or at least heat treatment) and I can’t pick it up until the New Year.

However, it was only $50,:so you probably get what you pay for. Small risk, though.

Exactly like this one:

Nice, for $50 you can use it to learn how to fix things if nothing else.
Looks cool though!

Yes. Ill experiment with steaming or hot-pressing the neck if needed. Anyhoo, Peavey necks go for about $120 on Fleabay, so below $200 I’ll have a nice bass worth closer to $300 or $400. Of course, I won’t sell it, though, unless it’s a real lemon.

Congrats @MC-Canadastan. That’s an interesting pickup. I wonder if that’s the thunderbird size.

Maybe. It’s a single coil ferrite magnet (according to specs), apparently quite hot and a bit hissy.

I’m on a roll… Actually, I’m in Poland, and my baggage limits didn’t allow me to bring any basses. So I went and GASsed a cheapie MusicMan Stingray clone. This one is branded “Echo” and is just asking for a lawsuit. Total cost: $167.

I want it to practice when I’m here, for the way back home, I’ll take it apart and put it in my luggage. It’ll be yet another project bass. I’m thinking of G&Ling it.

Good luck with it, @MC-Canadastan . . . :+1:

Interesting @MC-Canadastan .
How does it feel/play compared to a genuine Stringray?

I’ll let you know Monday, when I get it, how it compares to a Sterling Ray 4. I have never even seen a MusicMan Stingray in real life before, so that comparo would be difficult to do

My latest…I have not only the 8 basses, the 4 string mandolin and the resonator but I’m wanting to do podcasts, so I got the audio interface, the Pyle mixer and a new mic
