Thanks, @John_E and @T_dub I love both colors And neck choice.
Very nice @Al1885
Where do you get your ramps from? Trying to find one for my Warwick thumb with no luck
Thanks @Mac i got it from bass bonk on reverb. I bought a Warwick ramp for my 5 string Ernie ball Sterling.
This is what I bought
How did you attach it? did you drill or use double sided tape?
The bottom middle screw of the Pickguard to the middle of the ramp. I did use double sided tape to attach thin pieces of foam to prevent scratches and add a bit of height for better fit.
Sweetwater has four of that new bass I want (that I so can’t really afford lol… GFDI fix my freaking car already ;_; ) and I’ve noticed that on the poplar burl top, two of them the line where two halves meet is ugly and painfully noticeable, and on the other two it’s very well disguised or hidden. All four look very different, so it’s different from just purchasing something and getting whatever shows up like I’m used to with zZounds.
Glad I noticed that when I zoomed in. When the time comes, I’ll have to bide my time apparently, to get one with a top I think looks good
It’s one of those Ibanez headless basses that are growing on me. I could potentially do the credit card thing but I really don’t want to because I have already, thinking I’d be able to start selling stuff before now as things I wanted came up, but that’s just not f’ing happening. Supply chain crap is messing all kinds of stuff up, I haven’t had my car for approaching two months, now =/
Thanks Al, I was talking about the Warwick ramp on the stingray. Was that the one you are talking about?
Oh that was Stewmac double sided tape very thin and no residue. I thought that you were talking about p bass. Lol.
Thanks Al.
The ad says 4 string. Did you buy a 5 string version, or did the 4 string Warwick fit the 5 string Stingray perfectly like that?
Thanks Al @Al1885 .
He’s got nothing listed at the moment but I’ll watch and hopefully he’ll start producing a few again or I might actually message him
This is a cool thing about Sweetwater. You buy the serial number you put in your cart, they photograph every single instrument….and…candy.
That blue fretless is very pretty, @Al1885 . . .
I got the only thing he had but it fits by happenstance I’m happy.
Love that blue/black color! Very nice. Congrats!
Thanks @JerryP and @Jazzbass19
Watched this earlier in the week. I don’t get the ‘Gibson’ thing. This is a $6000 custom shop guitar that was sent out of the factory with a scratch in the neck finish and they clear coated over it! I guess Dentists don’t care about scratches?
This is basically why I would never, ever buy a new gibson. They have had this quality control problem, and famously, for years.
At least with used you already expect minor issues may come up.
Kinda glad I don’t have any kind of want or desire for a Gibson anything, tbh (and by extension Epiphone)
Nope nope nope nope nope
Epiphone is a whole 'nother story - I was actually surprised how bad the last one I tried was, for fit and finish. I have heard people have bought them and are happy; I am willing to believe this was a fluke, but I would never buy one sight unseen.
Gibson kind of bums me out as they make a lot of products in my favorite pickup configuration; double humbuckers rule the roost for me. And I think EB-3’s both look and sound amazing. But if I ever get one (or a SG), it will be a high quality clone, not a random quality Gibson.
