learned that the hard way. fried one the first time i plugged it in. just a stupid power design for an outstanding pedal.
I had the Tonebone for a while but sold it when the bass it was needed for went back.
Great pedals.
Got this for my daughters for her I have the newer version of this one and the original does not disappoint. It has 2 channels with 3 inputs the xlr is phantom powered. It has built in effects. It’s perfect for their sing along. They are loving it.
Genz Benz Shenandoah Jr. people are using this for the electric upright so there’s plenty of low end offering. I’ll be testing it over the weekend. This amp also have a built in foot lever so you can tilt up the amp for better spread. I’m plugging in the blue mic encore 200 dynamic mic with phantom power. It sounds great on this amp. Plenty of volume on this 35w amp.
I had some cash lying around so I bought…nothing. I put into my RRSP (Pension) to max out my taxable allowance before the end of the tax year in a few weeks. You can then use those savings as a deduction off your tax return and get a tax refund. BORING, BORING, BORING!!! Sorry Bass Buzzers I’ve let you down.
Being a sensible adult sucks
The teenage me would have spent it all!

Ok! Here’s the dilemma I scored this. Super rare condition (unused) 2001 usa fender 1975 reissued jazz bass neck with 3 bolt micro tilt adjustment. It’s in a brand new condition. I have my eyes on a few bodies but my favorite by far is the 2021 roasted pine American pro ii body but it has a carved neck heel. Clearance (left) is getting me nervous, lol.
This is probably the best 2001 condition of anything really.
Want…
Schecter calls the color Cthulhu Burst. Take me to Carcosa, baby…
So I’ve discovered that my beloved Schecter has a few basses that “enter J Bass mode” and that makes me very happy since I love Schecter and also want a J bass sound… They’re all in the $1200+ range lol… welp
I am envisioning swapping the Fluence pickups out for the white versions, with those block inlays…

Sad times.
My usual merchants seem to not sell the Fluence Bass pickups in white… killing my dreams here…
Edit It seems rather difficult to find the set at all o.O
Edit 2 Ugh even fishmanstore.com redirects to their dealer page. For all their bass pickups. What’s even the point? -_-
Better pic…
I’m also absolutely not pestering the artist on their YouTube either. Absolutely not…
Lol turns out Daniel Firth also uses a B7K (because of course he does. Every metal bassist does apparently XD)
Edit It uses a “C” shape vs “thin C” though the difference is minimal (on paper). 1mm thicc’er at the 1st and 12th frets
Yeah. B7K, Alpha/Omega, or Microtubes X - pretty common at this point ![]()
Erik Arko has some great shootouts on his channel.
After quick GIMPing

I think I’ve seen some of his. I’m pretty happy with my B7K. I do not use it much for distortion, just as a preamp that can add some nice sheen and a touch of drive when I dig in.
I love the NeuralDSP Darkglass plugin for this. Toggles between B7K Ultra and VMT Ultra, and they sound really authentic.
if/when I’m in a band again, I want their Exponent 500 amp. It has a B3K, Alpha Omicron, and Vintage pedals along with a bunch of other stuff (a Rat emulation, various EQs, the Luminance FET compressor mode, effects, noise suppressor). 5 presets. Cabinet sim you can load IRs into. Can use MIDI or its own foot controller. FX loop. For now the only “preamp” portion is “Leo Bass” which I guess is some kind of Fender emulation.
If I ever play live again I’m just going to get a Helix or Quad Cortex and go into PA’s
Need PA’s for the synth and vocals anyway, and they are much cheaper than amps/cabs all told - and with a lot more wattage.
rofl. Behringer makes 800W PA’s for $150. Uli, you may be an ass, but you rule.
I’d spend a little more for the Yamahas (well, double to triple that, but still just $550 for 1400W or $800 for 2000W of stereo pair). Then a good mixer at about $2-300. One stop shop for amps and speakers for all the instruments and vocals.
The guitar and bass just need amp/cab sims now. Plus effects. So, one Quad Cortex could handle a few guitars and basses, or a couple HX Stomp would do the trick.
Or just a computer really, but for live I would want one computer dedicated to the DAW and synths out of CPU paranoia.
I could never bring myself to go try out for a band without an amp. “Hey guys, mind if I plug into the PA so I can wow you?” lol, yes I have my Phil Jones combo and I’m being facetious.
I guess I’m still stuck in that age of using amps. Maybe it’s mainly a metal thing (though those guys often use things like Kempers and just put speaker cabs on stage for image and/or sponsors lol).
I still want that amp head and a Barefaced Big Twin or Supertwin with purple baffles
If all I cared about was bass I would probably want a bass amp. Then again, at this point I’m convinced that sims sound as good or better anyway. Especially for recording, but live is much less demanding of sound quality than the studio so anything that sounds good recording will sound fine live too, given enough wattage
I almost always plug into my computer these days, using amp sims. My actual amp is sitting next to my hardware synth setup using the aux input from the Zoom H6 that is being used as a mixer
The Exponent 500 is a modeling amp XD
Discourse is yelling at me… I hate how it polices people -_-
screeches in First Amendment (lmao…)
Yeah I ignore that discourse warning on the regular
So, current plan is to:
1)Get the Daniel Firth Hellraiser
2)Swap white Fluence bass 5s into it
3)Swap black Fluence bass 5s into Stiletto Studio 5
4)Swap Mike Pope Flexcore preamp from Stiletto Extreme 4 into C-5 GT
5)Swap EMG 2 band EQ into Stiletto Extreme 4 to sell it
But when
Musicians Friend doesn’t even have the Firth in-stock and sends out 15% off coupons at just about every bank holiday like clockwork, at least
So I’ll probably do the preamp swap for now and see about getting the white pickups. I emailed Fishman asking if I have to special order them or something.
That’s just the system going into “robotic action mode”, @Koldunya . . .
You can safely ignore those messages.
Cheers
Joe
