I bought it and returned it. I thought an ‘easy’ compressor would be useful vs the hyperluminal I have. Having the Cali made me learn how to use the hyperluminal and therefore no longer need it. I also nabbed two in DAW compressors which are super awesome, so saw no need for the Cali.
Stomp has great compressors. Big fan of the LA-2A. Prob one of the best ever made.
Well I’ve had my tax return for over 24 hours and haven’t spent any of it yet. So I’m gassing bad.
Sort of waiting, for an MDB5 or if the Surveyor 87 ever shows up.
Or the new Player bass coming out this year. My Sweetwater rep tells me they will have a dual MM model this year which sounds interesting, but no details as he can’t share them.
May look into a DAW. Going to try the Studio One trial I think.
For me it’s also about the characteristics of the compressor. Ovnilab has some good info on that. I preferred my Cali over the Super Symmetry.
But at this point I am more interested in digital compressors anyway.
It’s too bad Fender instruments don’t come with Studio One since they bought Presonus XD
I use Studio One and Bitwig Studio. I keep installing REAPER and never get around to really learning it lol…
Of the 3 on the hyperluminal, the super symmetry is my least favorite.
Need to get something ready. I wrote a song, and my RL instructor wants us to record it Monday, and he uses Studio One. So thinking that might be something to try.
Really, bundling that $99 version of Studio One with a new Player purchase would sell a bunch of guitars and basses
Yeah I figured, I didn’t dislike it and iirc the actual SS pedal works a bit better with more options. Like any pedal it’s very personal. I like more bright/attack comps while the SS handles lows really well and was more smooth.
Very interesting. That’s going be a pretty big departure from the norm for Fender. Did he say when this bass will come out?
He didn’t. He was about to then caught himself. He can’t discuss details yet. I think he said it’s based on the dual sonic guitar, but might have that wrong. my ears perked up at the MM pickups and not what came before.
I hope soon. You would think soon or he wouldn’t know the date with the crazy times we live in but who knows
wonder if it’s a reissue/remake of something like this in a weird partnership with Ernie Ball?
Who knows…
Studio One is fine; however I would check the free offers that came with your audio interface too. Most come with the lite versions of at least one DAW (usually Ableton, which is great too).
Exporting entire audio stems is a thing, too, for sharing between DAWs.
Bitwig will now open Ableton als files, which is pretty cool. I don’t think it will save to them, though. FL Studio and Auxy as well. Won’t save to them, though
Does kinda make me want to go back to Akai, like a Force, since it can save to .als
Yeah all DAWs should have no trouble exporting consolidated stems. Fundamental feature.
They have done some one offs and they did a couple of basses in 2012.

Ooh, double-buck, Warwick-style bridge, cool unusual shape, neat contoured top… nice
And I was doing fine with GAS…
Whoa, it actually is a Warwick. Awesome. Hadn’t seen the Idolmakers. Very very nice.
