GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

I am not sure.

But yeah, Bass and MKII have slightly different approach to the tone:

Someone help me. I am really gassing over this bass. And I got my return today. Help me avoid spending some of it on a bass I don’t need!

@Wombat-metal Wants vs. Needs
Also:

  1. Do not visit the store that has this bass in stock
  2. Do not look at the page for the online site(s) that offers this bass
  3. Do not THINK about this bass; divert your attention with other things
  4. Pretend this bass is only offered in left hand orientation, no RH version available (HA! - well, the opposite real-life situation sure keeps my left hander GAS down!)
  5. Put the return money/credit into your “rainy day” fund, or at least someplace that you can’t access it easily

Let me know if any of this helps, which I very sincerely doubt. :slightly_smiling_face:

Any one out there own a Squier 40th Anniversary P bass vintage edition and would recommend it? I only have one bass right now and it’s a J bass (another Squier). I’d like a P bass since that’s what started it all for electric basses and the fact that this is limited edition and vintage inspired makes it that much more appealing to me. All the reviewers I’ve seen on youtube seem to rave over it’s tone and playability.

actually I like this bass, but in my opinion it’s way too expensive for a MIM. a good reason not to buy, I think.

I really like this bass but the price seems steep for a Mexican J Bass.

It’s $1800 Canadian

For $1100 Canadian I can get a clean Made in Japan J Bass in Sonic blue. I’m a sucker for a matching headstock but it seems spendy.

Remember, Fender USA laid off the entire second shift in California, so this is the wave of the future, and MIA basses will be even more $ and fewer and far between.
And they have bumped up the price of the Squiers and also the Affinity series to reset the product range.

I may look at the Japanese market first.

So I’m looking at getting my first amp cabinet. I was looking at the 4×10 seismic sa-410.
This cab can be had new for 349 usd with free delivery.
Says it’s 400w, wired @ 8 ohms.

Here’s where i admit I’m a little lost here. Until now, I’ve only had combo amps-and my hartke hd75 punches well above its weight. i love that thing. But i want something with a little more oomph.

Anyone here had any experience with seismic audio or this cabinet in particular? I think it’s probably a good value. But is it good for long the long run?

No concerts, im just a garage plunker. It will sit in one spot and just be there.

Any input is appreciated!

But you do need it. It’s obvious. This bass will make you a better bass player. Suddenly, you’ll be able to play all of those songs that you’ve always been struggling with. It has the tone you’ve always been looking for. Plus, you’ll look so cool playing it. What are you waiting for? :smiling_imp:
