I mean, that pickup was clearly the weak point all along. I wouldn’t want it just on the basis of it being a single coil single pickup. The QC problems are icing on the cake.

Holy hell, what a mess.
It should be marketed as a 3-string bass, with a convenient string-shaped thumb-rest which stretches the length of the instrument allowing easy-access playing anywhere from the bridge to the nut.

Seems like a real train wreck. But, as someone on TB wrote: get yours now before they get recalled… might be worth a lot in twenty years (like those misprinted postage stamps, I guess) or once the Fender fanbois explain the mesmerizing hidden tonal qualities of such a “setup”
