GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

Wait… that third photo shows a price tag and no longer a bass above it… did it make the flight???

Yeah, fully agree!

Ya, he said strings in hand - but did not mention if they were attached to a bass or not, lol.

I’ll third this, however, would like to try out a 2x10 Fearless vs my 1x12.
That said, I need a bigger space before ever even considering this.

Haven’t tried moving the amp or using another power source but can do so. The equipment is plugged into a Furman EMI and doesn’t have any noise coming from the cabinet or wired headphones.
I even plugged the Yamaha headphones in directly thus eliminating the transmitter and no noise. So, the issue, I believe, is interference being picked up by the connections to the transmitter. I attempted to move the transmitter as far as I could from the amp along with plugging it in to another power source and still had an issue.

Can you switch the transmitter frequency? Could be interference on that band.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to do that and I suspect you might be onto something there… hadn’t thought of that. I would have to move my whole setup to see if that is the issue, so I can try that, but where I have my equipment now is where it will stay, so I guess I’ll need to live with not being able to be use wireless headphones with my bass amp!

Not my flight if it did.

Definitely call ahead and schedule a tour when you do. There’s a theater, outdoor stage/pavilion, recording studios. There’s a listening room for studio monitors all in a row. Demo sound booths if you want to really shred loud. Used gear room very fun to sort through and the staff has great stories about odd and unrecognized stuff coming through there from estates. Pedal pedestals with I/O and power plug and headphones, 1 each for bass, guitar and microphone. Grab any pedal and plug it up.

Been toying with getting a 5 string for my collection for quite awhile cuz there are a lot of songs I would like to play but they use a 5 string bass, so I was surfing my local music store and found this baby. I already have an EB Stingray special which I absolutely love and so I thought if I’m gonna get a 5 string, it might as well be another Stingray, Am I right? lol. I have sonar for sparkly basses so…I might just have to get this bad boy

From what I’ve seen on YT, it gets great reviews. I might go on Saturday and try it out.

Congrats. Looks great.

I’m an EBMM fan but the authority around here is @Al1885. He can tell you all about ‘em, for sure.

So far, other than my Fender fretless jazz bass, no other bass has been able to measure up to my Stingray so I have high hopes

If you like fender Fretless then you’ll love Stingray Fretless. Pino Paladino and Tony Levin were both on Musicman Fretless.

As for your purple sparkles, I just love it. Black hardwares and roasted maple neck is just a winning combo. It would be pretty difficult to tell the difference tone wise unless you are playing them back to back side by side, then again any 2 identical basses would have a bit different tones anyways.

Congrats!

Out of the box, my Ray5 was probably one of the best basses I’ve played off the shelf. I joked it was one of the rarest basses I owned, because I didn’t even change the strings. Got it. Played it. Had a hard time not playing it at every opportunity. Didn’t feel the need to mod it physically or tonally.

I agree that EBMM quality is really off the hook.
I have a EBMM BFR Dargie’s Delight 3 and it is flawlessly built, best I own as well.

My StingRay Special is flawless. Strung up with Thomastik Infeld Jazz Rounds and it can do anything. I play the other basses just so they don’t feel unappreciated.

I haven’t seen an EB MM fretless in any store I’ve been to. Now I have to go check it out hahaha

I have a 4 string ebmm sterling and the 5 string Feugo. I have a Sabre classic with an extra 82’ neck I was thinking about having it converted professionally to fretless like Mr Levin. Lol.

I don’t think that you would find a fretless ebmm in a shop unless it’s a bass specifically shop or Sweetwater.

The one without the Telecaster in it (for obvious reasons )
