GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

It’s quite easy to connect your phone to a laptop and use it as a camera. For Windows 11, this function is built-in: Phone Link requirements and setup - Microsoft Support

The quality is very likely many times better than with the built-in webcam. Note: use a USB connection to avoid latency!

Sometimes, the notebook or smartphone manufacturer provides an even better way (ie Asus or Samsung).

Nice one !
I have a very similar one but in brown
I have put flats on it and I love it !
Enjoy

Although you don’t get the full phone quality as far as I can tell. e.g. on my iPhone I can record 4k/60fps in ProRes 422. If I connect that and try to record through it from a Mac, highest it goes is 1080p/30 (I believe, going from memory)

Tbh, I haven’t tried. Is that wired or OTA? I got the little phone mount (selfie stick with a tripod) out to try it on my next cover but I’m waiting till my BB734 comes in to do it.

Maybe walnut?

I just discovered my 11 year old macbook is too old to run garageband, so I guess I’m in the market. I managed to record something yesterday with garageband on an iPad but I’m not sure I’d like to repeat that.

A generous friend gifted me a focusrite scarlett solo for the holiday (I think they had 3 in their house already)

If it’s one of the newer iPads with USB-C, hooking it up to a docking station and monitor (with a mouse and keyboard) make the process almost as easy as doing it on the macbook. I’ve done several recordings on my iPad because I paid for Logic Pro and like to use it for more than stem splitting.

The BB is at my local Fed Ex. It should be here tomorrow. Should. This is Fed Ex we’re talking about and I know better.

That was wired, OTA was restricted to 720p if I’m remembering correctly.

Well you answered your own question. I need not saying anything more

I had a laptop die on me once, and as I was working from home I depended on it, and got a new one FedExed out. Dell shipped it early and it reached my local FedEx distribution hub at 6 AM on a Monday morning, and sat there all week because as it turns out FedEx by policy would not deliver it early. They would ship it on time by the original estimate by golly and would not budge. Mediocrity thy name is FedEx.

Well - I had the itch to have some new cab (mainly for rehearsal space to accompany/replace the Ashdown RM112T and to achieve 4Ohms on either that config or to max out the Ampeg RB210 combo), so acquired a Hartke 210HD yesterday cheap/used but in awesome condition - too bad I can’t turn it up here at home

Finally capable to hear how a 4x10 config sounds
Also you may find @sunDOG colleague’s ex-Ampero One hidden on the picture

I’m particularly interested in the tonal qualities of the printer. How do you find it adds to your sound?

[Sorry, I couldn’t resist ]

Dude, seriously  :joy:

Well I only have one USB A → USB-B cable and have to print (sun school practice stuff) and have to use the Ampero (headphones practice and backing tracks via that cable) daily so they must be close. To the computer above the table. And good ol’ printers sounded good, these “new” laser ones suck big time

Printing those phat beats! :star_struck:

I prefer the tone of a good old HP 4200. Plus you could swap out the feed rollers with a ssssiiiicccckkk aftermarket kit. They played like a dream.
