My brother bought me a random pedal for my birthday. A Dunlop Echoplex Preamp.
Currently using it a clean boost. We’ve got a gig in a few weeks, so I’ll see how it goes playing live.

For a tort pickguard, I like this one. It’s dark enough for the black body. And it’s got a black middle layer. Me personally? I’d keep it.

New bass day for me. I swore I was done but this L-2000 came up on FB marketplace for a really good price. It’s been my dream bass since I was 16. 25 years later I managed to get one. It’s a tribute series but frankly that’s fine with me. I’ve got Indonesian made basses and they’re wonderful to play. The tone on this thing is nuts! Really hot pickups and lots of zing when I want it. I could go on and on

A couple L2000 Tributes, and even less likely because of cost, an ASAT bass that has the same pickups/controls as an L2000 but is a US CLF model.

One of the reasons I jumped on this was g&L’s closure. I don’t know if the demand is there but without new supply I only see prices going up. At the very least I’d be surprised if they came down. The preamp confuses me. I thought active preamps allowed cut and boost. But these knobs only cut. So why the preamp?

Not an L2000. My local GC had an L1000 that I played and really liked the feel of.they currently have a used Fallout that’s pretty fun, but it is pretty beat up, and the app claims they have a new Fullerton Deluxe JB in stock. They must be keeping that boxed up in the back because I’ve never seen it out. I’m there every Friday taking my kid to lessons so I just noodle around on stuff for a while.

In terms of feel I’d say it feels like a p bass. The tone is incredible though. I’ve heard great things about the l-1k but the second pickup is so good. I find most of my basses are very clean whereas this one has so much character. I’m at a friend’s house and I can’t wait to get back home to play
