Maybe I should have said that the tone seems to be better for me
But indeed, I need a Hofner and a Rick
No.
lol.
My digital sax is keyed just like a sax and feels like a sax. I use SWAM sax engines to get it to sound damn close to a sax. I dislike all EWIs for as I donāt want one for the instrument it is but rather to practice sax, where keywork is most important.
Mineā¦
Hehe, I figured
I get it, but I do indeed want a EWI to explore synth sounds and appreciate the sax-like fingering (almost) and the expressiveness of the wind controller.
The arrangement of the keys side by side as opposed to the arrangement on a traditional sax is intriguing, I think.
But, yes, not orthodox at all
Pretty cool.
I want but would have no idea how to use it
Read the instructions?
It looks like a lot of fun, but other than noodling around I donāt that Iād have enough use for it to justify the cost. The 2 is $400 bucks. I can think of a few songs I could have used it for (mostly some industrial tracks). The trick where he palms the pick and plays with fingers is the coolest part of the video imo.
LOLā¦noise machine.
iāve owned all the pogās except this one and at the end of the day i always came back to the OG 3 knob one. in fact i switched from the pog to the TC subnup mini. it sounds pretty much identical to a pog, but has a ton of presets you can access.
Ooh, Iāve liked the demos Iāve heard of that pedal.
Probably a bit easier on the wallet as well
oh yes
Is overdrive like a fuzz?
No, not really. Iām not an expert on effects, however hereās a blog post explaining the basics:

So basically, if I get it right, a distortion or fuzz pedal is some over the top overdrive. But Iām sure someone is going to chime in to correct me
I splurged on some picks. On the right is my first Howling Monkey pick that somehow Iāve managed to keep for years without losing. Itās made of Tagua Nut and feels great. Well, theyāve come out with some new designs since then so I thought Iād try a few out.
I guess you canāt have too many overdrive pedals
Exactomundo!
The best answer is probably sorta correct at least in it simplest sense. Each step away from clean tends to produce more gain (break up). But then it gets more complex as you dive into how a circuit design āflavorsā that pedal vs others.
Thereās soft clipping vs hard clipping. Even order harmonics vs odd order harmonics and how all it interacts that allows what I refer to as the mad professor pedal builder to produce what they do. There are probably 31 flavors of overdrive pedals alone.
You could spend half a lifetime and thousands of dollars going down this rabbit hole exploring all of the various takes on dirt pedals. Many are only slight variations of others produced by different builders using increasingly fancier metal boxes.
My wife and I had to run down to the only Seeās candy in the Denver metro area to pick up some treats for my younger daughterās birthday (turning 26). The reason that little nugget is in the GAS thread is that itās in the same parking lot as the main GC for Denver. I got to sit down and play a US made G&L L2000 for 45 minutes today through an RB-210 (my amp), so was able to do an apples to apples comparison to my Kiloton. It took me about 30 seconds of playing to realize that I need a US made G&L L2000. It was also the first time at a music store that one of the employees came up and said what I was playing (Joy Division) was rad, so we talked about the Peter Hook show tonight (@howard Iām wearing my Ceremony shirt today).
