Awesome to hear that it’s going well man!
Every time I think about double-thumbing or the concept of using the side of the thumb like a pick, this specific video comes to mind. And now that I’m thinking about it, sharing just because.

Ah, that’s cool! Every time I pick up a pick I lose all musical ability.
Well hello guys, first post in this topic - last night our guitarist finished the (initial version of) our first 2 songs recorded each instrument as separate tracks at home by all members and he mixed all together. Some modifications needed (e.g. more cowbell bass obviously, more chorus/reverb on the vocals), but sounds like pros did it and not us ![]()
As soon as ready for publishing I’ll come back with the link but it’s internal only, still a he step ![]()
That’s how it was for me at first. Gotta stick with it.
It also helped a lot to go to an instructor and getting some pointed critique and direction on my technique.
That’s super impressive and also the sort of thing that makes me think, “I have no interest in learning to play like that.”
I wasn’t really planning on practicing this yet, but slap came up in my lessons and it actually started to click! Still going to focus on other things, but I think I’ll add a simple exercise to the routine to build up accuracy in the meantime.
Great rehearsal this evening. The last two have been a bit rough, leading me to question if I really wanted to continue with the band. But tonight, we rocked!
Oh, and when I arrived home, I saw this visitor next to the house!
That’s awesome, makes for a great day when it all comes together.
