There’s a youtuber who I’ve followed for ages called David Bennett. He’s a pianist who analyses pop music and talks about the theory behind them. He does it in a very accessible way so that you don’t really need any theory knowledge to follow along.
Here’s a video where he talks about the different chord progressions and how they sound relative to each other. It’s a great introduction for how to start recognising them by ear:
In other videos he digs more specifically into certain progressions or time signatures and provides examples from pop and rock which use them. It’s a great way to put some method to the madness of theory.
