I’m excited to be part of this community. I’ve wanted to learn to play bass since high school and now several decades later I’ve decided to right that wrong. I’ve been doing the course for a couple of weeks now and ran into everyone’s favorite lady Billie Jean.
It went about as well as it did for most folks here
I’m going to go another round with it tomorrow in the Beginner workout and then put it away for a little while. It’s a good way to see how talented our bass heroes are and gives me something to work towards as I do the course.
My biggest difficulty came trying to put my pinky on the 4th Fret D string and my ring finger above it on the A. I kept trying because that’s what Josh taught in the lesson but I certainly kept missing my finger placement (among other things). Should I try to roll my pinky up to play the A after the D or is it one of those things I just need to suffer through? I know I’m not going to get it very well right now but I’m pretty sure I can play it easier if I’m not stacking my two fingers on the fret. Any thoughts?
Again, happy to be here and hoping this old dog can still learn some new tricks!
