I stupidly understimated the importance of a good strap whemn buying my bass (not a great idea when recovering from shoulder decompression surgery) So I’m looking to buy a new strap and these are two I’ve landed on - any thoughts on either? And should I wait until the 4” neo is in stock?
I don’t like 4” straps, personally. They’re too wide for me. Put pressure sideways on my neck, and don’t functionally spread out weight further than a 3” strap for me.
I’ve tried a couple different, and I really like the Comfort Strapp. Distributes weight very well. Stays in place. Good range of adjustability and easy to adjust.
That’s on you. If you’ve got a strap now, and have it adjusted for the correct length - measure that and see which one you need.
I use the Large. I’m 5’8” male, medium-muscular build. That can get short enough to lift the bass off my lap. Usually I run it with about 2” of slack when seated, hand position between belly button and belt as a good compromise for finger style or pick playing.
I could only see the 2.5” in the Uk anywhere - on recommendation i went with the Comfort Strapp which arrives tomorrow. Whatever it’s like its going to be so much better than the peice of nylon im currently using
Double edged sword as I work in customs clearance and our company did really well but I had to get Irish passports so my son can follow his cycling career in Europe
I have the Ernie Ball. It is nice, the width is good (around 3”), and the locking mechanism is neat. The only issue that I have with it is the minimum length. I find it too long, and the bass sits too low for my taste. For that reason, I got a Levy’s Poly Right Height 3”.
