True :grinning: But, if you like them, they apparently last you a long time. Especially the TI Flats, which some people have on their basses for several years (the same set). Then, they aren’t so expensive anymore…

The problem is that initial buy… imagine shelling out 60-70 bucks and then finding out that you don’t like them :crazy_face:

I have thought about trying the Thomastik-Infield nickle strings but that’s a lot of cash to shell out. I bought a bass from a guy 3-4 years ago and he told me the bass had those strings on it. In reality it had a set of D’Addario flats on it. Not sure he knew what was really on the bass? I moved that set of flats over to an Ibanez bass and still play with them darn near every night. They give that bass the sound of fretless. Hence my fondness for the D’Addario flats. They are cheaper as well. DR has become my strings of choice though, reasonable price sound great, available in hex and round core, good versatility for darn near any genre of music.
