oh no?
It’s a japanese word very overused on the internet by non-japanese speakers
Yeah, I looked it up after I saw it, interesting.
I was trying to think of an Aussie equivalent but there isn’t just one.
Maybe “Awesome!”
I rarely use it (or suge) but Japanese use it a lot too - I hear it a lot
Yes, but Japanese people… speak Japanese. And know how and when to use it.
Free advice: never use suge as it can come across as cool (if an appropriately informal Japanese person says it) or utterly cringe (if anyone else says it in most situations). Like my wife and I use it when alone and trying to ham it up or exaggerate something.
Don’t worry Japanese words are not in my daily vocabulary
A very informative segue there, I will use Chinese with Chinese speakers but not in general conversation (my wife is Chinese and I speak a little but understand more)
Put in a strangle switch with a .oo3uf cap.
Still assessing.
Seems a very subtle cut with a slight volume drop too, nothing that causes a problem
pics later
That’s a pretty small cap.
I think I meant .0033 or 3N3
What would be a better value?
I think I saw .022uf or something also?
Easily changed
There is definitely a small difference in what I have used.
I am not sure how dramatic it is meant to be
.022 would be worth a shot. That’s basically half the strength of the most common tone cap in basses on tone pots.
I’ll give this one a go and then switch out to the .022 in a bit then- you have take the bridge off to get into the 'lecktrics
According to your drawing etc and the Squire schematic, your cap is MUCH SMALLER than what’s in the Squire.
That might be the issue.
33uF = .033
That’d be my Electrical ignorance at work then.
Maybe I’ll pick up one of those at lunch and do some more surgery tonight.
Is it just me or does anyone else enjoy tinkering with a perfectly good bass?
I’m not an expert but it does relax me
Indeed.
I’ve modded around 15 of mine.
I really enjoy it. It’s a hobby in and of itself.
I have another one on the go too,
stripped and painted, finally on the home stretch and will be able to clearcoat on the weekend and re-assemble sometime next week.
Modding is a way of life
