Help with fender rumble stage 800 foot switch

Greetings crew! Bought a rumble stage 800 amp, that thing is incredible. Unfortunately, it’s incredible to the point I can’t figure out how to save an effect into the foot switch settings

I’m only trying to do two things here. Play through the amp normally and then when I step on the foot switch have the effects kick in for a certain part of the “devil went down to georgia.” Step on the foot switch again and it goes back to normal.

Whoever wrote the manual for that amplifier should be fired in my opinion. They do a very poor job of explaining the four function foot switch and how to save a modified effect into the foot switch.

My next step will be calling fender to see if someone can walk me through the process. I wanted to throw the question up here because the forum has been so helpful in the past. Hoping there is someone out there that is running to this before and can walk me through the easy steps.

Thank you very much!

I’m kind of glad that my Studio 40 came without a footswitch, so I didn’t feel like I’d paid for something I wasn’t going to use when I bought its much more useful bigger brother, the GTX-7. This review is from a guitarist using it with a Mustang GTX amp, but it’s 100% useful for bassists with a Studio 40 or Stage 800. If you get one, just remember that you have to go into the settings on the amp and tell it that you’re connecting a GTX-7 and not the default MGT-4. This video may answer your questions, even with the MGT-4.

OK gang: I finally figured this foot switch thing out on the Rumble Stage 800. I took a 20 minute phone call to tech support at Fender and Willie was very helpful. He agrees their manual wasn’t written by the best of tech writers but he walked me through it and I made some detailed notes. If anyone else runs into this problem please reach out and I’ll share the detailed steps on how to do this. Thanks again for all the help!
