Hooking one amp to another

Wondering if I can connect my Fender Mustang I guitar amp to my Fender Rumble 40, to utilize the presets on the Mustang amp
Thanks

You can link the headphone out from your Mustang to the aux in from the Rumble.

Probably a stupid question, but is it possible to go from the effects loop out of the 1st amp to the input of the 2nd amp? Does the “aux in method” avoid the 2nd amp’s tone shaping?

Yes, you can do that. I think the suggestion for using the headphone out to aux in was because the Mustang doesn’t have an effects loop (at least the model I looked at). Also, the aux in should bypass the preamp.

The down side to using these two amps like this, is you end up with a guitar preamp and bass power amp and cabinet.

They’ll be able to use the effects from the Mustang but won’t get the best bass sound. It’s a trade off. You use what you’ve got.
