Rain, rain and more rain. Flooding in the lower elevations and lots of snow with chances of avalanches in the mountains.

Thanks! I am high and dry here. Ran my errands before they declared evacuation down in town. In this news link you can see the brick floodwalls that now have the aluminum filler panels that complete the barriers. During non flood times, access to the walkways is where the panels are now. So, the river is supposed to crest about 24 hours from now (December 12th, 10:00am Pacific Daylight Time). There’s a LOT of rain this time of year and this year has been higher than most; higher than the last flood in 2021.

Thanks!

Feels like Christmas; that feeling you get when you rush all day because you plan on going nowhere for the next week.

apparently a massive storm on the way for those of us in the states. here in western NY i am hearing between 10 to 20 inches of snow between early sunday AM and monday evening — and its much worse in other areas. i am looking forward to cancelling my 8AM Monday class.

Stay safe out there in that crazy weather. I worry that a great many places facing this storm aren’t really prepared for that kind of weather. I have a lot of family in Tennessee and they are in the path of this storm too.

Up here in NH we’re also looking at 12-18 inches of snow if not more. Not too concerned about the snow - tomorrow the low is -2 with a wind chill of -25F . Dang cold even for these parts!
