I have a Harley Benton JB-75 which is about 10.5lbs. Looking forward to picking up something a bit lighter one day.
Yamaha BB434: 8lbs 15oz or 4.05 kg according to sweetwater.
Fender Jazz: idk. a bit more, maybe 9.5lbs? don’t currently have a scale other than a kitchen one.
My Geddy is 9.26 and the Fender Marcus is a bit heavier but yet to be weighed.
According to the ever precise “weigh my fat ass with and without the bass” method, my Squier Sonic P is 9 pounds even.
With all of the talk about light bases at the show my punk rock nature wants to build a 50lb bass. Just try to walk off with this one! ![]()
“You’ve heard of passive basses, and you’ve heard of active basses. Now try the 50-pound inactive bass!”
“You thought high mass bridges were cool. Wait until you hear our new Gravity bass ![]()
Ohhhh YEEEEAAAA… Our special heptagonal lead core alloy strings have so much punch it will slap yo momma”

I had nothing to do but sleep so I weighed some basses:
Squier Jbass - 8.0 lbs
Fender player pbass - 8.4 lbs
Sire M7 Ash 5 str- 9.4 lbs
Ibanez SRMS806 6 str - 9.8 lbs
It’s funny because the squier jbass feels significantly lighter (too light) than my pbass but I think it’s because the body on the squier is lighter but it’s neck heavy.
This thread made me curious for sure, so…
Fender P-Lyte - 7.7lbs
Jackson Futura Pro - 9lbs
Jackson C20 - 8.3lbs
Pedulla - 8.3lbs
Orange - 8lbs
Peavey Millennium 5 - 8.6lbs
Ibanez fretless semi hb - 6.8lbs
I’ve seen this thread a few times, but I finally remembered to post mine:

’22 ESP LTD TA-604 FRX: 9 lbs 6 oz
’22 Spector NS Dimension 4: 8 lbs 2 oz
