How to "route" two inputs to one output using a plugin/VST

For my practice setup I use ToneLib Jam.

I have two plugins active:

  • UAD LA2 Compressor
  • MeldaProductions MTuner for tuning the bass. It’s absolutely great!

On my Motu M4 I use Input 1 for my Pink’s Hot bass with very hot DiMarzio DP126 pickups and Input 2 for my Ronin bass with EMG GZR.

I can’t play both at the same time, of course, but I do this so I can set the gain for both basses individually and never fumble the level again. Just connect the bass to the right input and GO!

Unfortunately, MTuner only analyses Input 1, not input 2. So for tuning I still need to switch cables.
Is there a way to route input 1 and input 2 to input 1, using a (free) plugin? I would connect this to the input of MTuner (see below).

It’s just a matter of my own laziness. I want to plug in the right cable and play. No setting levels or changing inputs.

Anyone? Bueller? @Howard?

How are you loading MTuner? You should be able to set the audio source input to whatever you want in its plugin host.

Yes, I can connect to either channel (so input 1 => mtuner 1 OR input 2 to mtuner 1). I just would like a way where I did not have to do anything - so merging input 1 and input 2 and send it to mtuner 1.
I would use this as a standard setup for every song.

It’s just a matter of convenience, no biggy!

Try seeing if you can set the plugin host to stereo input, the input 1 would be left channel and input 2 right channel, and hopefully MTuner will take a stereo in.
