Yep, I think you’re in trouble. I tried to jam with a group a couple of times and they…sucked. If you could encourage her to try and play cover tunes would that help? When you’re trying to play an actual song, at least for me, it was a lot more fun than just trying to make up music.

I’m a little late to the game here but since nobody else has mentioned it - I will.
There’s a whole genre of music that depends on accordion and it’s the type of squeezebox that makes sure daddy doesn’t sleep at night.

Everyone should check him out—he’s in a whole other world of what can be done with that instrument!!! Your friend should check him out—it’s astonishing—I’d suggest checking out several videos, as he plays many ways depending on the song.
Well now she’s bought a mandolin so yeah … great. But I’m definitely gonna check him out!

Cello goes well with piano or clarinet, I have a buddy that plays piano so i’m learning cello so i can play with him
Classical guitar sounds great with cello too so anything you can play higher up and especially on a 6 string or 5 with a C sounds good.
