She was born on January 19th, 1979. She needs cleaned up really good, and might need to be refinished. I don’t want to do anything that will kill the value. Because, she is going to help me get a vehicle.
It is definitely an early model. I would not refinish it, as it would not raise the value, possibly the opposite.
check that all of the controls are working, also check the neck for any delaminating.
Prices for these have kind of leveled out, there are a lot of them on the market.
Cool T-40!
I LOVE my T-40.
It has tones like no other and has tons (literally) of personality.
The value of these is highly dependent on the condition of the electronics, as they are just about irreplaceable. The natural wood is my favorite.
Which neck is it?
Is it the traditional glued on fretboard, or is it the 2-piece side split? If the latter, is it in good shape? If so, then they are sought after.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s the most playable P-width neck ever. I have one on my 1985 Patriot.
Congrats on the nice score!
Agree. Here it is in action.
Thank you Moonshine… I’m not going to refinish the body at all. The is still in good condition. Just needs the frets leveled and polished. Outside a good cleaning of the hardware, and buying a few replacement parts. I’m going to leave her as she is.
