Hi folks, I’m hoping you can help me track down an old bass of mine. I sold it years ago and now I can’t remember the model number. I think it’s a rare model, cause my google-fu has failed me spectacularly.
Here’s what I remember: it’s from the Ibanez soundgear line, neck through construction, 4 string, active pickups, and 4 knobs in a straight line layout. It also had a triple slash fret marker at the octave fret. I bought it new, so there’s no chance of the fret marker being an aftermarket mod. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was part of the SRX line, but none of the SRX basses that I’ve seen have the triple slash fret marker.
Does anybody have any ideas?
EDIT: I don’t have any good photos of it unfortunately, but I’ve got some where it happened to be sitting in the background. They’re kind of low quality but they might be useful in tracking it down.
Great suggestion, but I looked through all of the 2000s and 2010s with no luck. That triple claw mark fret marker is very distinctive, and I’ve only ever seen it on that specific bass I owned. I think I bought it from a guitar center sometime after 2005, and sometime before 2017.
From what I have seen, the only bass they ever had with knobs in a straight line and neck through is the SRX720 from 2009 and 2010. But they either come with a double dot or a dragon style inlay.
hmm. Yeah the SRX720 certainly looks the part. Maybe it was part of some odd promotional thing?
Like, I know this bass existed, I swear haha! You can see the triple slash on the octave fret in the photo with the mask. I gotta say, whatever it was, it was a beautiful thing, and a joy to play. I wish I hadn’t sold it!
