It was a style inspired by his tutor, French jazz musician Darius Milhaud.
“His observation was: Never be ashamed of something that’s melodic, one could whistle,” Bacharach recalled. “That was a valuable lesson I learned from him. Never forgot that one. Never be afraid of something that you can whistle.”

Notable session musician David Lindley, a multi-instrumentalist known for his prolific work and collaborations throughout the Seventies and Eighties, has died at age 78, Rolling Stone confirmed. No cause of death was given.

Michael Rhodes passed on March 4th. He was session and touring bassist. He worked with Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Mark Knopfler, Joan Baez, John Fogerty, Michael McDonald, Dolly Parton, JJ Cale and many others.
