So after much frustration, unplugging and re plugging just about everything, etc. Annoying interference noise still plagued me 
Got notably better/worse with certain amp models in Amplitube, even without anything connected to the DAI… 
(that was confusing ), eventually tried powering the DAI with my old power bank… Silence 
Finally solved. Running through a powered USB hub now, and the DI box, one of the two’s done the trick, not changing anything now, sounds sweet
