Welcome to the community @kdandridgeuk !
Welcome aboard @kdandridgeuk ,
I started my musical journey the opposite way to you,
Bass first then drums,it should make it easier for you to lock in with the drums👍
Enjoy the ride,
Cheers Brian
Hello everyone!
I am Hann, a Polish girl in her early 30s, a slightly neurotic introvert, psychologist and statistician by profession, wannabe bass player.
A month ago, after many years of waiting, I picked up a bass guitar for the first time. It happened due to a big and unpleasant change in my life. I decided that if I did not do what I had been dreaming about since I was a kid, if I had died now, my spirit would not go away to the afterlife and it would never find peace (lol, I don’t believe in ghosts and things like that, but you get an idea😅).
Melancholic type, I like depressing music, the bands that shaped me are Joy Division and Radiohead (How to disappear completely is MY song).
My music backstory is long and complicated (I have guitar background), probably fits into a different thread, maybe I’ll write more on it later.
Anyway, I am glad that I joined, I am learning a lot and practicing much, trying to make up for the time I lost. You all are an inspiration to me!
Welcome! Joy Division is my favorite band too!
Welcome to the Bright Side of the Force Young Padawan…
Welcome @Hann !
Glad you are here @Hann.
Welcome do the low end, dark side of music
Welcome @Hann
Welcome aboard @Hann ,
Enjoy the ride,
Cheers Brian
I knew your ears would prick up as soon as you saw Joy division Howard, @howard
Cheers Brian
Nice to meet you!
Btw, I forgot to mention that your community seems really friendly here. I had rather bad experiences with Polish forums on similar topics…
And yes, I feel great on the RIGHT side of the force😄
(Turn to the the Dark Side, we have cookies!)
Witam na B2B.
My background is Polish. I also lived there for 15 years and I speak the language.
Welcome aboard @Darkskythe @kdandridgeuk and @Hann ! Before you know it, you’ll be following our GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) thread and the Multiple Bass Disorder thread!
Welcome @Hann, enjoy the lessons? Yep, it’s a nice community, newcomers get help and support
Definitely yes!
I had experience with irl guitar lessons, I’m not completely new to the music (although haven’t played in years) and have precise expectations. At first, I wanted to learn by myself, thinking it couldn’t be as much different. But I guess… it can:sweat_smile:
I started recently, chose this course after careful analysis and I am satisfied. The structuring and overal logic of the course is amazing!
Great to hear you are having fun with B2B! Josh is awesome! Like you, many of us re-beginners had some music experience before. Sometimes decades ago. But coming back to Rock&Roll is great.
Well hi there from the Netherlands
My name is Jeffrey, or Jeff…whatever suits in a day. Just got started here and even though I had 4 private lessons I’m very new to the bass. In playing that is
I liked the first 5 lessons a lot so I’m looking forward to the rest.
This journey is a real challenge for me due to a lobotomy in 2012. It cost me a lot of feel, speed and coordination on the the complete right side. So it’s a real thing to start at 55
I just want to play a bit at home with some favorite albums of mine,…various artist like Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Supertramp but also a lot of Funk, Soul and Jazz.
Let’s see where I go…nice to be here!
Welcome @JEzzY66 !
Glad you are here @JEzzY66.
Enjoy the ride and remember, there is no need for speed here.
I used to have a really hard time playing trumpet very fast.
I took lessons from a new instructor once and told him this and his response was “then play slower”.
Find the joy in it and focus on what you can do and accomplish.
None of us here can do half of what the ‘crazy kids these days’ can do anyway!
Welcome @JEzzY66!
