Hello,
My name is Shirley and several kind members helped me figure out how to post my introduction, I hope I did it correctly and in the right spot this time lol.
So, I just signed up several days ago after watching the free lessons and feeling like these videos clicked with me. I love Josh’s sense of humor and his teaching style. I also love that he is well rounded in all genres, especially my favorite, Metal!
I’ve been an on and off again guitar, drums and bass player. I’d always start out well and show a lot of potential and then quit after not having the discipline to practice or getting frustrated.
I just recently decided to get back in shape and lost over 40lbs in less than 4 months! So, I figured if I had the discipline to do that, I can have the discipline to practice and get over any hurdles I may have.
I’m super happy to find this program and I’m happy to see how far I can take bass playing. I feel like 2022 is a great year for me so far!
Welcome @snowblind07, @redme0, and @PinkLady, so happy you joined us.
Thank you!
Glad you are here @snowblind07
Thank you!
Welcome @snowblind07
@snowblind07 Hey Shirley, glad you’re with us. You posted your intro just fine. You’re going to get a lot out of Josh’s lessons, and the B2B group is the best on the Web. So strap up and settle in. Enjoy.
Welcome aboard @snowblind07 ,
Enjoy the ride,
Cheers Brian
Welcome @redme0, @snowblind07 , @PinkLady and @snaredrum! Super cool all of you are joining us! Welcome to the best bass forum around.
Welcome to all the new members , too many to name since I last posted here. As others have said this is a really friendly and helpful forum. The only negative thing I can say about it is that joining this forum has not helped with my GAS, Gear Acquisition Syndrome problem!!!
Welcome @snowblind07 !
Oh, it’s helped you with your GAS problem all right. Not so much with a solution to it, but it’s been very helpful to the problem itself.
Thank you everyone. I’ve learned a lot so far in both his paid and free lessons. I have the drive to practice and Lee moving on!
Welcome @jason74; and that makes two of us - same age, same service, same retirement, same instrument. Loved my posting at Ft. Lewis (before JB Lewis-McChord) from '97-00 and strongly considering moving back to Pacific NW when I “retire for good” in a few years. Good community here; have fun!
Welcome @jason74 from an army gal
Welcome @snowblind07
enjoy you journey and have fun
Hey all.
I’m Joe. Some quick demographics: I’m 37, work full time in aviation, and an Army veteran. I discovered the joy of playing music about 3 years ago when I bought a guitar and got pretty familiar with music theory, chord shapes, and some beginner/intermediate riffs and songs.
I have 3 guitars and take weekly lessons, but I most recently bought a Fender P bass and amp a few weeks ago and I can’t put it down. I took it to my teacher and he told me to grind Hysteria for speed, I also love funk stuff like “I want you back.”
I got hooked on BassBuzz from Josh’s absolutely no bs slap video and started the badass course because I love his teaching. I hope to learn both instruments concurrently despite some fingerstyle inconsistencies. I have very little interaction with bass people and bass opinions, so I’m happy to read these forums now.
@wrxloaf Welcome, Joe. Glad you’re here. You’re in the right place to learn a ton. And our BassBuzzers family is the best group of folks on the Web. Strap up and enjoy!
