Greetings,
I’m a guy who only recently got serious about bass and graduated the Beginner course less than a month ago. Now I’m trying to move from “Intermediate” to “proper extreme metal bassist” and am currently repeating all the course workouts in order with a pick, to build a solid foundation for eventually hitting 16th notes at 120 BPM. If your hand is anything more than a vague blur whose movement generates enough wind to blow your own hair back, are you even playing metal?
I’m also chasing the perfect heavy distortion tone, struggling to tame my humbuckers, which sound great clean but really chaotic with high gain distortion.
Gear: Sire M2, Ernie Ball Flatwound Hybrid Slinkies, Fender Rumble LT 25, still looking for the perfect plectrum

Hi everyone! I’ve been playing bass on and off for years, but never very seriously. Can play lots of cover songs but want to move past that. Started B2B after watching the YouTube videos. I really enjoy Josh’s teaching methods and humor. Having a blast with the course.
