Welcome to the Club, you are in the right place.
Welcome @Kopusetic!
Welcome @Kopusetic !
Good luck in the course - you’ll love it.
And I hope you like the colour orange.
You did good! Welcome! ![]()
Thank you and yeah orange is good; Harley Davidson, BassBuzz, and the Cleveland Browns! Lol.
Welcome aboard, @Kopusetic . . .
Good luck in the course, and see you around the Forums!
Cheers, Joe
As I said in my introduction - The beginner to badass course is money well spend in my opinion. Enjoy the course and the forum.
Hi there! 26yo from the Netherlands and finally bought myself a bass and started this course about 1-2 weeks ago. Got an Ibanez Talman to start with and a Fender Rumble 25. Wanted a bigger one as most recommend a 10”, but am living in an apartment and 20% of the rumble 25 is already getting me complaints, so mostly headphones it is
!
Loving the course so far and playing some easy tracks after my lessons, Zombie, 21 Guns and With or Without You are fun tracks to get the feeling that you re already playing bass early (and to build some well needed stamina).
Billy Jean on medium or fast broke my brain, but looking forward to what’s next in the lessons! Thanks in advance for the rest of this course!
Welcome, @tijsdekort . . .
Good luck with Billie Jean!
Hi!
Welcome @tijsdekort!
Also regarding Billy Jean, and I quote:
Ha die Tijs! Welkom in ons (betrekkelijk gestoorde) midden!
You got yourself a nice setup there. Gotta love the Talman… what with it being a short-scale, I’d probably have a go at that myself.
I have a 40W practice amp with a 10"speaker… and you’re right. Sometimes when I’m practicing and I think I’m not too loud, my wife comes up from the ground floor to the 2nd storey to ask me to turn it down a bit (we have concrete floors, so that’s not it).
Thanks, found another Dutchie already haha!
I think it’s a regular sized bass instead of a short scale one but I’m not sure now, it’s an Ibanez tmb 100 Black with 22 frets I believe. Either way is fine, really just starting out
Does anyone have some easy (rock pref) songs to recommend to play along to after practice? Thanks in advance!
Yes… I consulted Google, who knows everything, including the truth… and it does turn out to be a 34" scale, so…
… you’re right.
Again.
Dammit. This is getting slightly irritating. ![]()
As to rock songs: I don’t think we’ll be friends. I’m a jazz type of guy. ![]()
But I’ll have a look.
Hi everyone. Completely new to the bass, but looking forward to starting the B2B course which I have just signed up for.
I have no real music ability, but love music and really enjoy watching various bass players doing covers on YouTube, which is what made me think I should have a go myself.
After reading some reviews, and watching some demos, I decided the Ibanez SR300E made sense for me as a first bass.
Being an engineer, my head said get a bass with a black paint job… So I deliberately ignored that impulse and got a candy red model!
I’m currently using a small blackstar amplug2 headphone amp, but the next purchase may be a Fender amp, when I can hit two consecutive notes reliably
Welcome to the community @tijsdekort and @Mark_UK!
Hi everyone!
My name is David and I recently started taking the Beginner to Badass course (loving it so far!). I’ve had this bass guitar sitting in my basement for ages and being stuck at home all day inspired me to try learning how to play it. I’m having a lot of fun, although I am looking forward to getting new strings since these ones are over 10 years old!
I played the trombone for 12 years growing up and fool around on piano, so I am not new to music but I’m excited to expand my horizons by learning the bass.
Welcome @tijsdekort , @Mark_UK and @dmp
Welcome to the Forum @dmp!
Welcome @dmp
A trombone player, nice.
Less common than my “hey, I played guitar as a teen.”
Well hearing about brass instruments - I recently saw a video of bass sax and contrabass sax. Huge instruments, but very full sound.
Hi, I am @Danny and I have played Bass and played for a few of my young years. while I was young I lost my Pinkie Finger in an accident and followed up with a full amputation. I am retired and I decided to get back on track and learn bass over again. I have an Ibanez 5 string bass and on new species a left hand 4 string bass. I have never used and I am going for a few times to try and get see if I can manage using it.
I am amped to get started B n B and meeting many of you on this board.
Is there any 3 finger people out there.
