Hi catlin ! Very good amp you have there. Welcome to the course and glad you join !
Nice amp you have there. Oups. Already said that. Nice … ^^
Welcome @anybass ! That’s a very good choice you made (re ?)joining this course (and getting the gear for it).
Hello there. Just now kinda getting back into playing bass again–I guess you could say I was on hiatus.
Here’s my current bass—I’m actually planning to sell it soon. I have a weird philosophy about basses-it seems to work for me. I keep my basses very plain looking and about 95% stock—that means that I will often just put the strings on them that I like at the time. My goal: arrive at the jam session with nothing “flashy” and (hopefully) contribute musically. Don’t want people drooling over the cool equipment I brought.
My first bass was an old red Fender Musicmaster that I bought at a pawn shop—I wish I had NEVER sold that bass back in '98! So I just bought a short scale bass this afternoon that will soon be my main bass whenever it gets here and I get it set up.
Welcome @buzzroberts
Welcome @buzzroberts !
Welcome, @buzzroberts. Glad you’re here. It’s always a good time to get back on the ol’ bass horse. Enjoy!

Welcome, @buzzroberts
Hello everyone! My name is Darryl. I’m 58 years old and just starting bass guitar. I used to play guitar years ago but for some reason I have gravitated to bass. Geezer Butler blows my socks off and I would love to play like him eventually.
I was turned on to Bassbuzz through Josh’s YouTube videos. I’m really looking forward to working through the curriculum.
My bass is a Fender Jazz bass. Looking forward to reading everyone’s posts!
@Darryl Welcome to BassBuzz!
And welcome back to playing.
Welcome, @Darryl. Glad you’re here. Enjoy the lessons, and all that Jazz.
Welcome @Darryl !
Welcome @Darryl
Have fun!
I’m Stephen Wilson and have been playing bass (and half-assed lead/rhythm guitar if absolutely necessary) since 1970 in Jr. High School (called “Middle School” now) band. I first noticed bass, like a lot of folks my age (66) with the Beatles. But that was just the beginning. I soon discovered Jack Bruce, Roger Glover, Mel Schacher, Dennis Dunaway, John Paul Jones, Chris Squire, Stanley Clarke, Verdine White, John Deacon…and the list goes on. In high school I’d hoped to go to Berklee and be a pro musician but real life intervened. Played whenever and with whomever I could in my US Federal Gov career but being overseas 26 of my 35 years, it was rare I got to play bass. I was usually the best GUITARIST wherever I was assigned so had to focus on that. Since retiring in 2012 it was back to bass and have stayed there ever since.
Welcome, @sornord. Glad you’re here. Enjoy!
Hi, my name is Aïda. And I am an aspiring (but beginner) bass player.
My late husband (who passed in 2011) gave me a bass guitar as a birthday present in 2010. He thought I would make a kick-ass bass player. It is only now (13 years later) that I am picking up the bass and learning to play… As a new hobby, rehab for my hands (limited dexterity), mental stimulation, and to honour his memory (he was a god on the guitar).
I’m excited about this journey and to become part of this community.
