You technically can use a wrench, but you run the risk of dinging your finish.

This cool gizmo by Music Nomad does a lotto things, with one being to snug up those nuts (Wait…that didn’t sound right…but it was).

YMMV but IMO this thing is pretty much bad - I got it for free and almost regret it. I did get an earlier version but the blue handle is just too soft and works poorly as a wrench.

Yeah I believe you and I am wondering if they fixed it in a later version. Mine is not good. The metal they used for the driver heads is also cheap and soft, one of the hex drivers has already rounded out.

The screwdriver bits aren’t the best quality, for sure.

With a deep socket, I’d stick some painter’s tape on the lip of the business end, to protect the finish. Of course, it’s doable to not ding anything with a bare socket, if you take your time and are careful.

But you should have a washer between the nut and the surface anyway, which should be plenty to protect the finish.

I do cone wrenches from my bike maintenance parts with painters tape over the part touching the bass to avoid scratching.

Careful with spanners. Protect the finish real good. I have a couple and used a diamond hone to remove any sharp edges before using them.

one point, instead of buying a set of crappy ones, buy 1 good one professional one, the one you need, and you dont have any sharp edges, and a lifetime tool, unless you loose it offcourse

I was spoiled growing up by my dad’s full sets of Snap-On and Craftsman. Not just my dad, though; soldering stations in electronics shop at school? Wellers. Etc.

This is my inside socket set. Inside the house that is. Don’t ask me how many different sets I have in the garage, my truck, my car and my Jetskis. This set is clean and grease free. Potentiometer nuts can be tightened by hand, thus no damage, I just use the socket without the ratchet. I got this set when I had to use a bunch of Craftsman points before Sears sadly closed.
