Is there any specific bass for tapping?

I can appreciate slap a lot though - a few bass heroes here slay with it.

Good point. One of the best ways to pick out errors is to plug a mic in. I prefer slapping over tapping, but I suppose that’s because I’ve not spent as much time with the latter over the former. Now that we ‘got into it’ with this thread, I am jazzed to work on it, more.

You can mellow that out with a FretWrap or similar past the nut. When you tap a string, it vibrates on BOTH SIDES of your finger, so you hear the end that’ll get amplified, but also the other end between your finger and the nut. And those notes aren’t tuned. :slight_smile: So a mute there will kill that sound.

I’ve got a Gruv Gear fret wrap on my 6 string. I kinda like it. I picked up one of they’re straps and liked it, so gave a fret wrap a try and so far Gruv is 2 for 2
