Just bought a Fender bass

I’ve bought / sold a lot of stuff on Reverb.

If something isn’t as described, you can get a full refund and the buyer pays for the return shipping. It’s in the Reverb policy / contract stuff if you dive into it. It’s why I take the maximum amount of photographs when I sell anything to avoid these things.

Bottom line - that damage is complete bullshit to list as ‘Very Good’ condition.

I’d have asked for a full refund, but I’m happy you got the deal you wanted.

Seller denied refund. Waiting to hear from reverb before I take it apart. Expecting an email to send pics etc. before tearing into it.

I want to keep it but will decide when reverb looks into it.

OK I’ve had good success with Reverb in the past with this very thing.

If you’re polite and explain the issues they’re normally good.

Reverb wants your money and want you to be happy / confident to buy more.

I really can’t see you not getting a refund on that damage if it wasn’t mentioned in the listing.

If it was mentioned, then that’s on you obvs.

Yeah agree, if it was “very good” and all that damage was not shown in photos then I would absolutely open a case with Reverb.

I am keeping it if they give me a partial refund. Not sure how that works but will know soon. I am sending pics to reverb when the woman emails me about my case. They see all the messages and it is easy to make a determimation. Seller was adamant about no refund of any kind. Zero effs given by him. Would reverb take a refund from him if they find he was in the wrong?

I didn’t get any deal. It is all pending on what happens tomorrow.

That’s some BS, I’d be pissed. Can’t stand scammers. Someone calling that “very good” and not revealing the damage is a scammer.

It’s all explained in the T&Cs. You’re completely covered.

I am all done with the process. My time wasted on the back and forth has left this one sitting untouched and I am too invested mentally to ignore it any longer. My best man was my band leader way back when and did custom painting. I may ask him to fix the damage later on but I want to get going on the cleaning, leveling (if needed, but it shows very little wear) and polishing so I can finally play it. I sent an email to cancel the refund ticket and while I am taking a decent hit in the wallet, I am ok with it now. I am never going to this seller again.

You do you.

But this makes no financial sense when the financial protection Reverb offers is why I use it vs Ebay where it’s pretty much non existent.

It’s completely free to request a refund and you’d most likely get it based on that undisclosed damage.

You lose when you buy and you lose when you sell with the damage on that bass following this route. Also you empower this seller to try his luck again, so really we all lose.

I am torn but see your point. Alright, I will try again but the result will be the same. Full redund this time.

I’ve bought quite a few basses on Reverb, including this one.
Never a bad deal, but it depends upon the seller, of course.

Waiting to hear from Reverb on full redund. I am spent over the mental gymnastics this experience has put me through. @JD56hawk, send me a PM if your reply needs to be seen. I won’t tell.

Reading the buyer protection clause I may be out of luck since I paid via paypal through reverb. I will see what their email reply is. I already have the supplies to take care of business for when Inget denied. I have a guitar that is getting a new pickup in the bridge and the other to file the fret ends that are sticking out and very sharp. These are an epi inspired by gibson and a Jackson.

Paypal also has buyer protection

I’m rooting for you here. Just sit on your hands. Wait and see what Reverb have to say.

The only reasonable outcome is you getting a full refund. Provided that the seller didn’t show that damage or describe it fully in their listing.

Reverb aren’t idiots. Their business model is about trust. You the buyer trusting the process and that if there’s a problem they’ll make it good.

That green is gorgeous. I also wish they’d done the clear guard on the purple burst. The one they chose just clashes to me.
