Not entirely sure where to put this post but it’s mostly just me rambling and not looking for any information soooo here it is.
I picked up a six string guitar in the mid/late 90s when I was 14 or 15 and started to teach myself guitar. I used tab books from the local store and then there was this tab software in the early 2000s 8 I used to use, that for the life of my I can’t remember the name of. I’d mess around until things sounded right and then try to hone in.
My only music lessons ever taken was a brief time in elementary school with a viola and a clawhammer banjo workshop I did in my 20s.
I had an Ibanez bass for a little while that I got on trade but I never really touched it much and ultimately sold it (regrets!)
All these years I’ve had numerous guitars, never really progressed to where I wanted to be due to a very off/on relationship with the guitar.
I watch a lot of YouTube and Davey504 was fed to me a lot so I’d listen to his playing and was amused by his weird sense of humor.
Eventually the YouTube algorithm started feeding me videos from Josh here. Now here I am, 4 days in 2 modules completed.
First, Bassbuzz is an amazing tool and despite me finding everything in the first two modules to be pretty easy, the way it is presented is fun and engaging. Thanks Josh!
Second, I legitimately enjoy playing bass the way I always wanted to enjoy guitar. Guitar always felt kind of forced to me. This just feels right. Natural. I firmly believe that it’s never to late to learn something, but boy do I wish I had tried bass twenty-something years ago.
Thanks for reading me ramble!
